Inmarsat Terminal Activations

Pipeline Telecom, Inc handles all Inmarsat service functions including, activation, deactivation of Inmarsat mobile terminals, and the issuance of Inmarsat mobile numbers.

 

Background

Inmarsat is the internationally recognized body that sets the rules and oversees “service activation” or formal registration/re-registration of mobile terminals for all vessels. Under these rules, deactivation and reregistration/activation of equipment must take place when a ship changes its country of registration (transfer of flag), when there is a change in owner or when changes occur with the equipment. In order to affect the change, the terminals must first be deactivated by the former PSA that activated the equipment.

 

Requesting Activations

A request for activation must be made when:

1.      A vessel changes flag

2.      A vessel first enters service (new building)

3.      A change in equipment details occurred, including ownership of equipment (vessel owner/operator change)

 

What is the procedure for requesting activation?

1.      Appoint an Accounting Authority

2.      Submit Inmarsat Service Activation Form (SARF)  * Form must be signed by both applicant and the AAIC

3.      Ensure all equipment has been deactivated – (In order to activate equipment the equipment must be first deactivated by the former PSA that originally activated the equipment)

 

What is the Pricing?

  

1.      Payment Options of Credit Card, PayPal or Wire.

a.       Activation = $125 /terminal

b.      Deactivation $= 100 /terminal

c.       Update Vessel Details = $25/Terminal

d.      Update Owner Details = $100/Terminal

e.       AA Change = $50 /Terminal

f.       ISP Change = $125/Terminal

g.      Name Change Only = Free of Charge
